Going back to our speed dating analogy, first thing’s first: you gotta Google them. Do your research. Make sure they’re legit and that you’re not being catfished, per se. Check out their reviews. Good? Bad? Have a little gander at what their marketing standards are like. Are their photography skills up to scratch? Do you like what you see when you scroll on their site? Do they have an impressive portfolio? Most of the questions you have to ask yourself, including: do I want this estate agent to represent me and do they want what’s best for me?
Communication
In seller/estate agent relationships, communication is key. It’s important to articulate what you find helpful and not so helpful in a list. Always be candid! Being frank will benefit you both to see if you’re a right match for each other. This is a great way to help you both get a better understanding of your needs, and any good estate agent will always take the time to hear out your concerns and take on some constructive feedback.
Read the Fine Print!
We cannot stress this enough. Always check the terms of your agreement! Go through it with a fine tooth comb and make sure you’re 100% happy with everything going on. This way, if anything has been overlooked or is missing from the paperwork, here, you have the time to fix it!
